Turning Off Automatic Recertification

Toggle off Automatic Recertification in Settings > Recertification, or set specific courses to "Never" recertify, or edit individual learner recertification dates.

You can disable Automatic Recertification for all learners and courses, for specific courses only, or for individual learners—depending on your needs. This does not cancel your EasyLlama subscription; it simply stops automatic renewal assignments.

What You'll Need

  • An EasyLlama admin account with Account Admin permissions
  • Access to Settings > Recertification or the Learners tab

Turning Off Automatic Recertification

Option 1: Turn off for ALL learners and ALL courses

  1. Go to Settings > Recertification.
  2. Click the toggle at the top-right to disable automatic recertification (Purple = ON, Gray = OFF).
  3. Click Save at the bottom of the page.

Note: With automatic recertification off, you'll still receive email reminders to manually recertify learners. Ensure reminders are enabled under Settings > Notifications.

Option 2: Turn off for specific courses only (keep on for others)

  1. Go to Settings > Recertification.
  2. Find the specific course(s) you want to disable.
  3. Change the Recertification Frequency drop down to "Never".
  4. Click the toggle at the bottom to "Apply to all Learners".
  5. Click Save.

Option 3: Turn off for individual learners

  1. Go to the Learners tab.
  2. Select the learner(s) you want to modify.
  3. Click "Edit recertification date" in the purple action bar.
  4. Choose the training type and set the date to "Never".
  5. Click Update.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does turning off Automatic Recertification cancel my subscription?

Will I still get reminders if I turn off automatic recertification?

Yes. You'll receive email reminders to manually recertify learners when they're due. Make sure recertification reminders are enabled under Settings > Notifications.

How do I manually recertify learners after turning it off?

Can I turn off recertification for some learners but not others?

Yes. Use Option 3 above to edit individual learner recertification dates to "Never" while leaving automatic recertification on for everyone else.

What happens to learners who already have recertification dates set?

Existing recertification dates remain in the system. Turning off automatic recertification prevents new automatic assignments but does not delete existing scheduled dates.

Can I turn recertification back on later?

Yes. Simply return to Settings > Recertification, toggle it back on, and click Save.
