What if my Learner doesn't have a computer or email address?

Alternate access options for learners with no email access.

Many organizations have learner’s who do not have an email address, or who are unable to come into an office to take training on a work computer or device.

This article provides alternative ways to send links to your learners. Texting is also available for an additional fee per learner, for all learners in your subscription.

Quick Answer

Go to Learners Tab > Click Learner's Name > Notify > Copy-Paste link, then send the link via text, messaging app, or print it for offline delivery.

What You'll Need

  • An EasyLlama admin account
  • Learners added to your dashboard with assigned courses

To get a learner's unique training link:

  1. Go to the Learners tab in your dashboard.
  2. Click on the learner's name to open their profile.
  3. Click the Notify button in the purple action bar.
  4. Select "Copy-Paste link" from the options.
  5. The link is now copied to your clipboard—paste it wherever you need to send it.

Note: Each learner has a unique link. Do not share links between learners.

Ways to Deliver Training Links

Option 1: EasyLlama Texting (Paid)

EasyLlama offers SMS texting for a fee per learner. Contact your account representative or Support to enable this for your subscription.

Option 2: Text from Your Phone

  1. Open the EasyLlama dashboard on your phone's browser.
  2. Navigate to the learner's record and click Notify > Copy-Paste link.
  3. Paste the link into a text message and send.

Option 3: Text from Your Computer (Free Methods)

Email to SMS:

Many mobile carriers offer an email-to-SMS gateway service that converts an email sent from the sender’s computer into an SMS message delivered to the recipient’s phone.

  • Send an email to the learner's phone number using their carrier's gateway:
    • AT&T:phonenumber@txt.att.net
    • Verizon: phonenumber@vtext.com
    • T-Mobile: phonenumber@tmomail.net
    • Sprint: phonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com

Helpful Tip! In the above example, replace ‘phonenumber’ with the learner’s 10-digit phone number.

Messaging Apps:

  • Use apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or Telegram to send links from your computer.
  • May need to create an account and have the recipients’ contact information, or be connected with them in the app.

Online SMS Services:

  • Free services such as TextFree, SendSMSNow, and TextEm allow computer-based texting.
  • May need to create an account.
  • These apps may have certain limitations, like a maximum number of characters per message or a limited number of free messages per day.

Google Voice:

  • Free for US users—provides a phone number and allows texting from your computer.

Option 4: Kiosk Mode (Premium Plan)

Create a single Kiosk link that all learners can use. See Setting up and using the Kiosk Link feature for details.

Option 5: Print or Share Offline

Copy the link and use a URL shortener (like TinyUrl or Bit.ly) to create a shorter, easier-to-type URL. Print it or write it down for learners who need to type it manually.
