Troubleshooting "No Next Button - Can't move to the Next Slide"
Common ways to resolve issues where learners cannot click "Next"
Sometimes, the "Next" button does not appear or respond when learners try to advance through training. Below are common reasons a learner may experience this error, and steps to resolve them.
Common Causes of This Error
- Incomplete interactions: Videos not fully played, audio not clicked
- Multi-select questions: Not choosing ALL correct answers with "select all that apply" knowledge checks
- Simultaneous playback: Starting next media before previous finishes
Immediate Actions
- Refresh the browser page
- Check for "Select all that apply" questions that need all correct answers chosen on Knowledge Checks
- Ensure all videos/audio have played completely
Detailed Solutions
Complete All Interactive Elements
- Click all interactive elements:
- Videos: Be sure to view all videos on a multi-video slide by clicking the arrows. Wait for one to complete before going to the next - starting the clip early may require the Learner to watch the video again.
- Audio clips: Be sure to click all sound icons. Wait for one to complete before going to the next.
- Multiple text boxes: Be sure to click through all text boxes as instructed.
- Check multi-part questions:
- For "select all that apply," have the learner ensure they have chosen ALL correct answers.
- For click or drag-and-drop answers, ensure the learner has completed all required actions and takes care to remove any wrong answers if instructed.
- Wait for completion indicators:
- Video progress bars to reach 100%
- Refresh the page if the button is still missing.
Browser Compatibility Check
Try this if: The issue persists across multiple courses or learners.

- Confirm the browser is supported:
- Chrome (recommended)
- Firefox (supported)
- Edge (supported)
- Safari (supported)
- Internet Explorer (not supported)
- DuckDuckGo (not supported)
- Update browser:
- Click Help > About [Browser Name]
- Install any available updates
- Restart the browser completely
- Clear cache and cookies:
- Go to browser Settings > Privacy & Security
- Clear browsing data
- Restart and try the course again
Helpful Tips
- Instruct learners to first try a browser refresh when stuck
- Provide guidance on "select all that apply" question types
- Recommend Chrome as the primary browser for training
- Clear browser cache to ensure elements are not “stuck.”
