What are Seats, and how are they used?

Single Seats
- May be used to assign one course to any Learner.
- You may use additional seats to assign more courses to a Learner.
- Seats are not transferable to another Learner. This applies whether the Learner is active or if you archive them. Archiving a Learner who has a used seat does not free up a seat for another Learner. A new Learner will need a new Seat.
Flex Seats
- One Flex Seat allows you to assign up to three courses to one Learner.
- Seats are not transferable to another Learner. This applies whether the Learner is active or if you archive them. Once any course has been completed over 10%, the seat is "sticky" to that Learner.* Archiving a Learner who has a used seat does not free up a seat for another Learner. A new Learner will need a new Seat.
Unlimited Seats
- May be used to assign any number of courses to one Learner for the annual period of your subscription. When your subscription renews, a new Unlimited Seat will be used when the next new course is assigned.
- Seats are not transferable to another Learner. Once any course has been completed over 10%, the seat is "sticky" to that Learner* - it may be used to assign any number of courses to the same Learner, but may not be used for another Learner. This applies whether the Learner is active or if you archive them. Archiving a Learner who has a used seat does not free up a seat for another Learner. A new Learner will need a new Seat.

Frequently Asked Questions About Seats
Do seats expire?
Seats expire one year after purchase. For three-year contracts, seats will expire at the end of the contract.
Can a course still be taken after a seat expires?
If a seat has been used to assign a course, the course may still be taken after the seat expires, but if that course is unassigned, it will expire immediately and will not be refunded. If a course is very old, and in our old interface it may no longer work and a new course must be assigned using a new seat.
Do I have to pay for archived Learners?
You do not pay for Learners, you pay for the seats used to assign courses. If you add a Learner, but never assign any courses to them, you won't pay anything for them being in the dashboard because they have not used a seat.
Archiving a Learner does not reduce or change your subscription in any way. Your subscription is based on seat usage, not the number of active Learners in your dashboard. If you need to downgrade, you must do so before your renewal date.

Can I get a refund for unused seats?
No refunds will be issued for unused seats, so be sure to use them before they expire.
